First Meeting will Take Place at the Michael T. Weber Community Auditorium at Putnam Hospital Center

Professional Women of Putnam (PWP), the leading networking organization for enterprising women in Putnam County, announces the launch of Young Women of the PWP (YWPWP).

The organization’s tagline, “A Girl Can’t Be What a Girl Can’t See”, represents the new group’s mission, which is to expose young women to the victories and challenges of entrepreneurship. The Young Women of the PWP (YWPWP) connects high school girls with established women in the Putnam business community, who can share real stories and best practices about succeeding in business.

“We need to pay it forward and invest in the future of our female leadership,” says PWP President, Jamie Imperati. “Young women need to start early with basic skills, exposure, mentoring and role models, so they are emboldened and confident to lead the next generation of entrepreneurs”

The YWPWP will meet quarterly, beginning on May 29th. The program will feature a panel of women who will share practical strategies, including success stories and real advice on how to navigate challenges. Panelists will share their educational background; what they majored in; what they aspired to be when they were in high school; what they are doing now; and how they got there.

The panel line up for May 29th will be: Putnam County Executive, MaryEllen Odell, Donna Massaro, Chef and small business owner of the Freight House Café, Dr. Anita Gupta of Northern Medical Specialists, and Mary Dery Staff Scientist at BASF and Kim Maglietta International Sales Assistant, The Jones Group. The panel will be moderated by Lisa Kaslyn of Prosper Communications.

The YWPWP wants to help empower young women to achieve their higher education goals and fulfill their leadership potential.
